LOOKING TO TRADE, i will possibly sell if the price is right but i don’t need to get rid of this timeless beauty realistically. id like to see if anyone would trade for a newer truck that is manual as well. i love this truck but its more a novelty vehicle to me. it’s been re sprayed white from previous owner and has the red interior. Very minimal rust and it runs and drives every time i fire it up. mechanical fuel injection, new shift linkage bushings and extra wheels and random parts. Please don’t waste my time with a dog shit trade or “is this available”. clean kansas title.

1980 Volkswagen Rabbit

1983 Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup (Caddy) 1.7 project. $3000 OBO. I've owned this truck for 12+ years, and I've finally decided it's time to let someone else finish it.

The first two photos are older pictures showing the truck assembled. The remaining photos show its CURRENT condition.

The truck had a blown head gasket when I originally got into the project. I rebuilt the engine and had it running again around 2017–2018. I have an older grainy video of the truck running before the rebuild. It has a blown head gasket. but unfortunately I can't find the video I took after getting the rebuilt engine running.

The engine and transmission are currently out of the truck.

The biggest unfinished part of the restoration is the passenger-side front wheel well/inner structure. There was significant rust in this area, and I've already cut out most of the rotten metal. It now needs someone who knows sheet-metal fabrication and welding to finish rebuilding and patching the area correctly. See pictures—I am not trying to hide the work it needs.

There is also rust in the rocker areas, which is fairly typical for these old Rabbit pickups.

The good part is that this is a complete truck with a very straight overall body. I've had it stored indoors for more than a decade, and I have the parts that were removed during disassembly. Do not have front and rear bumpers. Rear was damaged and removed and both junked.

Mechanically, it is mostly original. The main change is that the original fuel injection was removed and converted to a carburetor setup using VW Beetle components.

I'm simply over the project. I've owned it long enough, have other projects, and would rather see it go to somebody who appreciates these trucks and has the fabrication skills to bring it back.

This is NOT a running/driving truck. It will need to be trailered.

It has an expired Vermont bill of Sale for when I misplaced the title but then found the Title so I have both. I bought the truck in Arkansas and looks like it was in Virginia before that.

I'm not interested in parting it out. I'd like the complete truck to go together.

The odometer says 57199 miles but don't know how accurate that is.

Make me a reasonable offer.

Will trade for a sport/track bike

1983 Volkswagen Rabbit

1980 Rabbit pick-up. Doesn’t run, it has a broken lifter and not sure what else is wrong. The crank is out of time and I don’t feel like taking it apart any further or swapping it. I never got the chance to drive it or register it. I do have a bill of sale, and an old registration from 2016, but nothing else.

-It’s a 1.9 IDI someone put in, in the 90s.
-It’s got all new rear drum brakes, coilovers up front and drop plates in the rear.
-The interior is in really good shape except for the headliner and carpet.
-The BBS RAs come with it. They are on brand new tires.
-I have two spare front fenders that will go with the truck. They are red.
-It does need some body work as you can see in the pictures.
-I do have most of a TDI that I would consider selling with the truck for more money on top.

I really wanted to save it, I just don’t have the time for it right now. Thanks for looking

1980 Volkswagen Rabbit Caddy

VW Pickup I was in the middle of a 16 valve conversion, lost my storage. Price is just for the truck without the engine. Engine is available in a separate posting as well as Tectonics Tuning Exhaust and Headers. The truck has some rust that is easily repairable. Frame is solid and straight.

I pulled this VW Caddy out of storage. It is one of four that i own and is the lowest mileage one that i have.with only 98,500 originsl miles.Classic silver Volkswagen Rabbit pickup truck with a 1.6L diesel engine with 5 speed transmission. This is a rust free survivor. Paint is in good shape with some patina on top of cab and a little surface rust in bed.Perfect tailgate
What it needs
New alternator
Shifting linkage adjusted but goes into all gears.
Previous owner tried to fix riverside door lock and pulled inside panel snd broke corner.
I bought a new set of ABS panels but have not installed yet.
If I have time I will work on fixing the little cliches.
Im getting older and trying to thin out the herd.
If still around before winter I will put it back in storage and relist in the spring.

1982 Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup Diesel

81 Volkswagen rabbit pick up truck in very good. Excellent condition. Truck spent most of its life in Florida and has absolutely no rust. The 1.9 turbo diesel was all rebuilt within the last year or two by the previous owner. The truck runs excellent and will hit 85 miles an hour with no problem. It has minor little things that could be fixed or left as is. The five speed transmission and engine were rebuilt at around 120,000 miles and only a few thousand miles since rebuild . Runs great, a real eye catcher. price reflects condition of the truck. serious inquiries only.

Bought for a drag project. No engine or transmission But have too many projects to do. I have a couple extra fenders that came with it too. Make offer or trade

Have an 81 pickup. Clean title in name. Sitting since the early 90s. Engine is missing top end but original manual trans is there. Rust on rear floor is really the only concerning spot. Passenger rocker was pushed in by what I would assume to be a forklift. Have seats and I think extra dash along with some wheels. Will include most of an ABA swap for it I pulled out of a mk3 golf. Full harness, engine, fuel tank and prob some other bits. Good donor or winter project as its not pretty but solid where it counts with these
