The truck runs and drives. All the lights and turn signals etc... work. Hvac controls work. The bad - the truck has a lot of rust and would take a lot of work to repair. Im also including a 1982 caddy shell with cabriolet front clip with the sale. This shell is in much better condition. The front clip has no rust and what's on the rest of the truck is repairable. I have titles for both.

1980 Volkswagen Rabbit

LOOKING TO TRADE, i will possibly sell if the price is right but i don’t need to get rid of this timeless beauty realistically. id like to see if anyone would trade for a newer truck that is manual as well. i love this truck but its more a novelty vehicle to me. it’s been re sprayed white from previous owner and has the red interior. Very minimal rust and it runs and drives every time i fire it up. mechanical fuel injection, new shift linkage bushings and extra wheels and random parts. Please don’t waste my time with a dog shit trade or “is this available”. clean kansas title.

1983 Volkswagen Rabbit Pickup (Caddy) 1.7 project. $3000 OBO. I've owned this truck for 12+ years, and I've finally decided it's time to let someone else finish it.

The first two photos are older pictures showing the truck assembled. The remaining photos show its CURRENT condition.

The truck had a blown head gasket when I originally got into the project. I rebuilt the engine and had it running again around 2017–2018. I have an older grainy video of the truck running before the rebuild. It has a blown head gasket. but unfortunately I can't find the video I took after getting the rebuilt engine running.

The engine and transmission are currently out of the truck.

The biggest unfinished part of the restoration is the passenger-side front wheel well/inner structure. There was significant rust in this area, and I've already cut out most of the rotten metal. It now needs someone who knows sheet-metal fabrication and welding to finish rebuilding and patching the area correctly. See pictures—I am not trying to hide the work it needs.

There is also rust in the rocker areas, which is fairly typical for these old Rabbit pickups.

The good part is that this is a complete truck with a very straight overall body. I've had it stored indoors for more than a decade, and I have the parts that were removed during disassembly. Do not have front and rear bumpers. Rear was damaged and removed and both junked.

Mechanically, it is mostly original. The main change is that the original fuel injection was removed and converted to a carburetor setup using VW Beetle components.

I'm simply over the project. I've owned it long enough, have other projects, and would rather see it go to somebody who appreciates these trucks and has the fabrication skills to bring it back.

This is NOT a running/driving truck. It will need to be trailered.

It has an expired Vermont bill of Sale for when I misplaced the title but then found the Title so I have both. I bought the truck in Arkansas and looks like it was in Virginia before that.

I'm not interested in parting it out. I'd like the complete truck to go together.

The odometer says 57199 miles but don't know how accurate that is.

Make me a reasonable offer.

Will trade for a sport/track bike
